- Linen/Flax is a natural hollow fiber
- The resulting action is very similar to fiberglass, but with a very quick dampening/recovery akin to carbon fiber
- It has a beautiful woody look and texture but due to the hollow nature of the blank is incredibly lightweight
- Flax is incredibly durable, the best description is a hybrid between glass and carbon fiber – it is not afraid of high sticking
- Flax fiber does have some memory – if you overstress the sections, it will remain slightly bent and can be straightened back, or left alone for a period to recover (similar to bamboo)

Here’s a truly great rod for heavy-duty freshwater applications and light-duty saltwater use. It casts like a bullet in the wind and has the power to handle all salmon species. It is the rod of choice for flats fishing when the wind comes up, and it will pull a big redfish back to the boat in a heartbeat.
