This rod’s blank design is unlike any other SJR we make, and it is a lot more powerful than its rating sounds. Its unique design features a soft, flexible tip for tossing both bait and lures, but the magnum butt-section is very powerful, giving you total control. This rod is perfect for throwing jigs in situations with heavy current.

This rod was originally designed to back-troll small lures for steelhead or silver salmon. But because of its extra-fast design, light tip, and powerful butt, it has quickly emerged as the rod of choice for serious walleye anglers fishing spinner/worm rigs. Saltwater flats fisherman also like the light tip for casting soft plastics, jigs or bait to cruising redfish and specks. This is an extremely versatile rod for both fresh and saltwater use and it is surprisingly powerful for its size.

The ultimate light-line steelhead drift rod. It has the perfect action to handle 6-pound line and a subtle power, much like a fly rod, that tires fish quickly. We originally designed this rod for the western technique known as boondogging, where the angler lets his boat drift the same speed as the river. This allows the bait to maintain a drag-free drift beside the boat. The technique requires a more forgiving rod, because the fish will drop the bait the minute it feels any resistance. Consequently, this rod is soft enough to let you “see” the strike before the fish has time to react. It works well for both winter and summer-run fish. This style of rod has become a favorite for those anglers that are side drifting.  Other applications include still-fishing bait for big trout and casting small spinners and spoons from shore.

FSS ISR 703-1

Here’s an excellent all-around spinning rod. A great choice for notherns and big, deep-water walleyes. The ISR 703 has a medium-heavy tip and a fast taper that delivers both long range casts and the power necessary to fish Carolina rigs. It is a good deep-water worm and jig rod, especially in tailwater situations where some current is involved. Saltwater anglers will appreciate its power for snook, small tarpon, or casting jigs or spoons for redfish; the quick taper gives you better control in the wind and increases hook setting power for live bait applications. It also makes a nice lightweight striper rod, or if you enjoy simply lounging on the river bank, dunking worms for catfish, well, it’ll fit nicely in a forked stick, too. Now that is versatility.

Specially designed as a deep-water spinning rod, the ISR 763 excels at fishing small leadhead jigs, tube jigs and small to medium crankbaits. The 7’6” length extends the angler’s casting range and provides a much better hook set in deep water. This rod has plenty of power for bigger fish, but it is also very forgiving, thanks to its moderate action. You aren’t apt to lose fish when they are hooked a long way off or going crazy right at the boat. It also makes a top-notch rod for ripping minnow-style lures.
